- Make ready 1 cup chana dal
- Make ready 1 cup finely chopped onions
- Take 1/2 cup chopped capsicum

Shahi Dal, as the name advocates, is an aromatic, and delicious Mughlai style urad dal cooked with milk, ghee, and a fistful of almonds. Serve urad dal with naan, lachha paratha, or jeera rice for an indulgent Indian style dinner. Just before serving, mix Shahi Boondi, chopped onion, green chiles, roasted cumin, crushed red chilies, fresh mint and stir well. Top Dahi Boondi Raita with roasted Shahi Peanuts and serve.
Instructions to make Shahi Chana Dal:
- Wash the chana dal and pressure cook it by adding some salt and haldi powder untill 2 whistle comes.
- Now make a tadka.
- In a tadka pan add desi ghee after it gets heated add cumin seeds,heeng,bay leaf,cloves,cardamom and saute them for few sec.
- Now add chopped onions,ginger garlic paste,green chilli and fry them untill golden brown.
- Now add chopped capsicum and cook them for 1 min.
- Then add chopped tomato and cook them until oil leaves from the corners.
- Now add red chilli powder,garam masala and mix well..
- After that mix everything pour cooked chana dal into this tadka and sprinkle some coriander leaves.Give them a final mix.
- Keep like this for 1 min.then serve hot with roti or rice.
- Enjoy as it feels like restaurant style dal.
