The ingredients needed to make Crunchy Marinated Tofu:
- Take 400-500 g Firm Tofu
- Make ready 1 cup Cold Water
- Make ready 1 teaspoon Salt
- Make ready Herbs and/or Spices of your choice
- Make ready (*e.g. Black Pepper, Rosemary, Thyme, Bay Leaves, Garlic, Lemon, Dill, etc.)
- Get Oil for cooking
Add the cubed Tofu to a large bowl, then use a spatula to gently toss it with the Tamari, until evenly coated. Add the Nutritional Yeast, then gently mix until coated. Add more Nutritional Yeast or extra seasonings to taste, if desired. Transfer the cubes to a baking sheet lined with a silicone mat, leaving space between the cubes.
Instructions to make Crunchy Marinated Tofu:
- Mix Cold Water and Salt to make salty water. The saltiness is up to your preference. Add Herbs and Spices if you wish to add flavour.
- Cut Firm Tofu into small cubes, place in a container and cover with the salty water. I recommend to keep in the fridge overnight.
- Take out some tofu cubes that you are cooking, and dry with paper towel. Heat small amount of Oil in a frying pan, cook tofu cubes until browned.
Cover tofu slices with a baking tray. Place tins, jars or a heavy book on top of the baking tray. To a blender, add the garlic, soy sauce, cilantro, chili sauce, lime juice and ginger and blend until smooth. Place the tofu in a baking dish, top with marinade and toss to coat. Whisk the soy sauce, sesame or vegetable oil, vinegar, honey and a large pinch of salt together in a medium bowl.
