The ingredients needed to make Anzac Biscuits:
- Take 170 g Oats
- Prepare 100 g plain flour
- Make ready 100 g caster sugar
- Make ready 100 g butter plus extra for greasing
- Make ready 1 tbsp golden syrup
- Make ready 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
Instructions to make Anzac Biscuits:
- Heat your oven to 180C. In a bowl mix together oats, flour and sugar. Melt the butter in a small pan and once melted stir in the golden syrup. Add the bicarbonate of soda to 2 tbsp boiling water, then stir into the golden syrup and butter mixture.
- Make a well in the middle of the dry ingredients and pour in the butter and golden syrup mixture. Stir gently to incorporate the dry ingredients.
- Put dessertspoonfuls of the mixture in to buttered baking sheet. Bake the biscuits in batches for 8-10mins until golden. Transfer to a wire rack to cool.
- Tip: leave about 2.5cm/1in apart to allow the biscuits to spread.
