The ingredients needed to make Iced Biscuits:

- Take 100 g/3½oz of Butter
- Get 100 g/3½oz of Caster Sugar
- Make ready 1 Medium Egg
- Take 275 g/10oz of Plain Flour
- Make ready 1 tsp Vanilla Extract(optional)

- Get 400 g/14oz of Icing Sugar
- Take 3-4 tbsp Water
- Take 2-3 drops Food Colouring(optional)
Steps to make Iced Biscuits:
- Preheat your oven to 190C/170C Fan/Gas 5. Line the baking tray with greaseproof paper.
- Cream the butter and sugar together in a bowl until mixed well.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract(optional) until well mixed well.
- Add the flour until the mixture comes together as a dough.
- Roll the dough out on a lightly floured work surface to a thickness of 1cm.
- Using your biscuit cutters(or a mug/cup) cut biscuits out of the dough and carefully place onto the baking tray.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes(mine went in for 16minutes) or until pale golden-brown. Set aside to harden for 5 minutes, then cool on a wire rack.
- For the icing, sift the icing sugar into a large mixing bowl and stir in enough water to create a smooth mixture(mine was thick). Stir in the food colouring if you're adding any.
- Carefully spread the icing onto the biscuits using a knife or spoon and set aside until the icing hardens. Then enjoy.
